Politics: No Kids' Play

Politics is a dogfight that is certainly no fun for kids. But by becoming the most recent president of the great United States of America, Barrack Obama has pulled his two sub-puberty daughters into the fire of world political affairs. Contrary to the dirty works of leading a whole controversial country that is seen to send mixed signals to the rest of the universe, Mr. Obama is faced with the task of either play cards that win at all costs in his quest to get a good name, or put his kids first in setting good examples. So far, he has been putting out efforts in coupling with his wife, Michele, to groom two stable girls to reflect the sobriety that brought these model parents to the forefront of politics. However, by doing so, it is putting increasing pressure on a local populace that is accustomed to the aggression that had brought that nation to be the dominant world power in the first instance. Although since adopting the White House, Mr. and Mrs. Obama constantly put their girls on show as human shields to intimate what a mammoth task it must be in assuming presidency, many patrons in the electorate, both republicans and democrats, aren’t buying it that the world leader has to travel on moral grounds for the sake of being a good father. The relatively young family inherited an economy in shambles, and by the standards of the USA in past such deficit situations, many of his critics believe the panacea should be to step on other people’s feet, hands and even their shoulders to get back on top of things. But in America, kids and pets come first and these political parents seem to be inclined to honoring that tradition.

Ditching Double Standards

In the past, US presidents set one set of rules for the rich on paper, and another subset for the poor to taper. Those said leaders would institute such regulations without even as much as a blink. But that sort of hypocrisy is now unhealthy for the appropriate upbringing of Sasha and Malia. The girls might be puerile at this point, but anything that their dad does in his leadership will certainly be under closer scrutiny than what the American public can imagine. Currently, there is a wide trench between the rich and poor in the realistic views concerning health care reform. The wealthy part of the population still wants to procure that power, but the president is showing preference of splitting it down the spine. That kind of partition is never a source of contentment in US politics. But if fair-play is part of integrity that exemplifies proper parenting, then Obama doesn’t have a choice in the interest of his children. The US and therefore global economy has been contending with a crisis akin to the Wall Street Crash that engendered the Great Depression of 1929. It is easy to point fingers at different administrations to verify who contributed to this recession, but that still wouldn’t find the solution. For the rich people, they would love to stay on course their piggyback ride, clinging to the coattails of the poor to repay this debt. Yet, the wasted billions that brought the world to its knees, was spent on goods and services, half of which had nothing to do with the interests of poor people, generously speaking. Nevertheless, decency is now at least dictating conscience in the mind of the current president, and enemies of morality are prone to produce mayhem.

Slashing Mixed Signals

President Obama is trying his best to be as transparent as possible to foster his kids’ formative years of development. He cannot send mixed signals, and then go home to hug two beautiful girls, who look to him for guidance and sincere paternalistic ethics. With his sane kind of sentiments, it doesn’t augur well for his popularity, since it’s not only the common herd that flutters in a crisis situation. Even the rich become restless when there isn’t a visible light at the end of the tunnel. In that kind of darkness, many people, rich and poor alike, easily let go of moral standards and a cutthroat game is set to play. Right now, the rich folks are gasping for air, in some parts being faked as a ruse to preempt cutting back on their resources, and as a way to shun being pushed to live below their accustomed lavished means. However, despite everything, Barrack Obama cannot afford to sacrifice the rectitude of his family for four or eight years of political fame. That would be tantamount to Judas Iscariot selling Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Is it worth it? Doubtfully any well-thinking person thinks so.
